Sub Focus has released the first track from his new album as a free download. Although we’re not the quickest to bring it to you, having had it blaring in our ears for ages, it’s still too good to let it pass by.

Having spent the best part of 2011 smashing huge arenas and festivals alike with his incredible live show, Nick Douwma aka Sub Focus is now back in the studio working on the highly anticipated follow up to his self titled 2009 debut.

Taking the diversity he offered on his self-titled debut album, ‘Falling Down’ is a brilliantly-pieced tapestry of glacial melodies, bowel turning low-end combinations and vocals that will stick in your head until long after the last tune of the night has gone.

The artist’s rise through the ranks of underground drum & bass to become a major player in electronic music has been nothing short of spectacular. The musical brain-child of Pendulum members Gareth McGrillen and Rob Swire, Knife Party has been party to one of the most rapid and highly succesful ascents of any band on the scene. Consistently releasing instantly catchy club-bangers since their inception, it’s no surprise that their first release “100% No Modern Talking” is brimming with incredibly danceable beats sure to crush crowds worldwide. Ranging from dubstep to electro and everything else included in their unique brand of “seizure music”.

It’s a well know fact that we’re huge fans of BBC Radio 1′s Essential Mix Show. The show famous for bringing music fans just a little bit closer to their favorite producers and DJs. Max Vangeli & AN21, famed members of the ‘Size Matters’ crew and wingmen of the Swedish House Mafia play bootleg after bootleg in this mix, blasting anthems one after another. Kaskade’s mix earlier in the year was much talked about but after listening to Max Vangeli and AN21′s mix a few (hundred) times through, it gives Kaskade’s mix a run for the title. When you hear a big tune it’s just something that hits you right away—you know it, you feel it and if you’re the person playing the music you can see it in the crowd. I’m pretty sure that was the case when Avicii first dropped “Le7els” back in January 2011. And here we are today, almost a year down the road and that tune feels like a classic and it’s not even out yet. Well, not yet anyway, but the release is imminent (October 31 to be exact) and we’re pretty certain it’s going to stay one of the biggest records of the year. So few songs actually manage to capture the passion, emotion and general feeling of ecstasy that this tune does.

As a little reminder of the song’s incredible journey from dancefloor to music store take a peep at this teaser video. The footage was captured over the past 12 months from across the world and does a pretty damn good job of summing up, in 2-minutes, the phenomenon that “Le7els” has become.

Anyway, what a cracking song this is.  Although a new act, the two players in DEVolution have serious heritage. Pete Devereux conquered the mainstream once before as one half of Artful Dodger, who took UK garage from the underground to the charts. His new sparring partner is former Size Records artist Tom Devos, who also scored a cult hit with The Dawn’s ‘Wonderful’. Written in just a few hours, this first track from the pair, Good Love, caught fire almost immediately, becoming MistaJam’s Jam Hot record within a few weeks and also getting airplay from Target on 1Xtra and Trevor Nelson on Radio 1.
