Being the lovable fuckers that we are, we’re trying our best to bring you every set from this mammoth show!  So we’ll start of proceedings with the one and only Mat-Z0.

London, England based producer and DJ Matan Zohar, or Mat Zo as he is known to his fans, was born into a artistically gifted family.  His mother, an accomplished professional violinist, and his father, a famous oil painter and music lover, immersed Matan into a world of music, from classical and folk, to opera and modern synth music. By age 8, precocious Matan was already so much inspired by music that he taught himself the guitar, and decided to start a band.

After moving from the USA back to London, England, his birthplace, at age 11, Matan soon became a drummer in a jazz band, and bassist in a rock band, but after listening to such dance music artists as Daft Punk and the Chemical Brothers, their primal rhythms combined with cutting edge melodies, instrumentation, and progression moved him to a turning point in his career: electronic dance music production and DJing.

He taught himself to produce dance music at 13 years old, and by 16, taught himself to DJ.

By 2006, when he was only 16 years old, Matan had his first signing of a track, but it was after he won the Baroque Remix Competition with Lustral’s “In My Life” that many world-class DJs and producers began to notice this young producer’s great talents.

By mid-2007, Mat Zo had remixed for Andy Moor, Markus Schulz, and he became a DJ household name after Tiesto hired him to remix “Driving To Heaven”, and the remix appeared on Tiesto’s internationally recognized “In Search Of Sunrise 7″ CD compilation.

Mat Zo quickly worked up the ranks to become one of the most sought after progressive dance music producers in history. He has played in such cities as Holland, Germany, Ukraine, Ibiza, India, and various cities in England.

Mat Zo has gained tremendous support by the world’s top DJs, including Armin Van Buuren, Tiesto,  Above and Beyond, Markus Schulz, Ferry Corsten, Andy Moor, and Airwave.  He has numerous releases out on such labels as Intuition, Armada, and Anjunabeats, and continues to produce varied electronic music, ranging from drum and bass, to trance and progressive house.   The future looks very bright for this young producer/dj’s career.  We have only seen the beginning.
