Playlist: Gill

Published on July th, 2011

Gill returns with another rock themes playlist. A genre that’s rarely seen on ZeroSeven, especially during these summer months, however we do like to have a little something for everyone. Check it out.

From Rise Against latest album “Endgame” this track was writing to highlight the problems with homophobia amongst teenagers, and trying to get the message out that it can lead to a kid wishing to end their lives and that it needs to stop. Very good song with a catchy chorus. Watch out for the names in the videos, these are the names of kids who have taken their lives to bulling for being gay in the month of September 2010.

This track from Simple Plan taken from the new film “PROM” and is from their new album “Get Your Heart On!” Simple Plan are back to their old style with this number, pretty catchy and upbeat chorus and is well worth a listen.

This is Zerbraheads first single from their upcoming album “GET NICE!” out on the 5th of August this year. Little heavier than their earlier stuff but still worth a listen.

Black Veil Brides said earlier in the year that they wanted to become one of the biggest bands on the planet, and with their latest album I believe they could be. “Set the World on Fire” is an amazing album, good mix of heavy guitars and vocals with some softer elements thrown in. This track is on the of the best. Kicks off with a great drum solo, then the bass, and finally the guitars all come in, bit for the heavier fans but awesome none the less.

This track has been out for a while in America butt has finally find its way over here. Awesome song featuring Chad Kroeger from Nickelback, Ludacris and Zakk Wylde. The video is full of half naked girls dancing around so even if rocks not your thing, well worth a watch.

This video has a bit of a long winded intro which is a little weird and creepy but fits with the song perfectly. A video about the seven deadly sins with a little part for each. And don’t forget the awesome solo.

To finish this mix I’m going to end on this one, the first song writing by the bands very own Synyster Gates. It was originally to be dedicated to his grandfather but once their drummer passed away it was the only suitable way for the track to be used. The video is very emotional throughout, showing the lifelong friendship the band had with the “Rev”, and the last couple of minutes has been known to bring people to tears with unseen footage of the drummer in his younger days.
