Following on from the end of an era topic we progress to the people who follow Hibernian. My love affair with Hibernian has passed onto my own children.
The satisfaction of winning the League cup against Dunfermline and celebrating with my eldest son and half the city of Edinburgh in Easter Road will never be forgotten. My wife met us with our young daughter and new baby son all wearing the glorious green.I’d always hoped that all my kids could witness it again in the future and the old Hibees duly obliged with that smashing 5-1 win against Jim Jeffries Kilmarnock. The whole family were captured outside Tamsons in the credits at the end of the official DVD that Hibernian made. More recently I took my grandson to the Hibernian v Montrose game followed by the tie against St Mirren at Easter Road, both happily ending in victories. In my grandsons school story book my daughter told me how he had written about how much he enjoyed the whole occasion, seeing school friends at the game and being involved in the atmosphere of it all.

Another generation of my family falls in love with Hibernian and it makes me smile with great pride. Everyone has their own stories to tell of how they fell in love with Hibernian all different but more probably than not passed down from fathers and mothers.
Frustration was the name of the game against Ross County and we survived a torrid tie.
We are still in the cup and winning it is still possible if the desire and application is given by this current Hibernian team. Moving on to the Derby tie tomorrow, I’ll not be there after promising myself never to pass a penny of my money to the Hearts after the Wallace Mercer trauma.
Predicting a result is foolish in this game so I pray Yogi has his team ready to do themselves justice? hopefully we can have the bragging rights come Monday morning.
Get right into them boys three points tomorrow will set us up lovely for the Scottish cup replay at Dingwall next Tuesday.
